OUR HISTORY
The Helenites Sports Club from since its inception in 1991 has served as an outlet for young adult and older adult men in our St. Croix community. Helenites Sports Club is one of the most successful and decorated soccer clubs in the Virgin Islands. We have won the most league titles in St. Croix as well as having the most “Big 4” (Inter Island Tournament) Titles (5) in the Virgin Islands. Our players, both past and present, have represented the Virgin Islands National Team as well as the St. Lucia National Team. We have players who have played Division 1 Soccer in the US and players who have been invited to a Caribbean Combine for Major League Soccer. In most recent years we’ve opened our club to middle and late adolescent young men who seek to challenge and broaden their soccer skills. Understanding this need, we have sought to develop a youth soccer program –to young boys and girls from the age of 4 - 16 to help in cultivating and strengthening the soccer skill set of youth in our community. Our youth soccer program practices are hosted on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 pm to 6:30pm at the St. Joseph Catholic High School Field. This youth program began on March 19th, 2022, and derived from the parent organization called Helenites Sports Club, which is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
The meaning of the new crest: 4 Stars represent the 4 Big 4 Titles the club has won. The chain is a unity chain, and the club has always been a club who unites. The Name Helenites comes from “Helen of the west”.
